Brisbane buyers are usually solving a street, not a highway. The office is at 1 Albert Street, Victoria Point 4165, and the containers themselves come off Brisbane-side stock near the port.
From Northside industrial yards to acreage blocks out past Ipswich, Brisbane is our busiest delivery zone.

Outback's own office is in the Redlands, at 1 Albert Street, Victoria Point, postcode 4165. That is a sales office, not a public container park you can wander. Stock for Brisbane orders sits on the port side of the city, where containers come ashore, and is trucked across to the address. A hardstand at Eagle Farm 4009 is a different job from a Paddington 4064 side street or a Wynnum 4178 worker's cottage.
Postcodes we run constantly include the inner north (4006 Fortitude Valley through to 4030 Wooloowin and 4012 Nundah), the southside (4101 South Brisbane, 4120 Greenslopes, 4122 Mount Gravatt), bayside Redlands (4163 Cleveland, 4157 Capalaba, 4165 Redland Bay as well as Victoria Point), Logan (4114 Woodridge, 4118 Browns Plains, 4129 Loganholme) and the Moreton Bay fringe (4500 Strathpine, 4503 Kallangur, 4510 Caboolture). If the street is narrow, measure the gate before you book a 20ft.
Getting a container to Brisbane is easy. Getting it off the truck in a post-war street is where the planning goes. Older suburbs on both sides of the river mean narrow carriageways, cars parked both sides, street trees and low service lines running from the pole to the house. A tilt-tray has to back in dead straight and then tilt, so the questions that matter are whether the truck can line up with your driveway from the road, and what is hanging overhead where the tray goes up.
Sloping blocks and houses on stumps add a second catch: the flat spot is often down the back, behind the house, where no truck can reach. If that is your block, a 10ft container or a crane-truck drop over the fence may be the answer. Our delivery page lists the clearances the driver needs — measure the gate and send a photo from the street and we will tell you straight whether it goes.
Renovators are a big group. Lifting or gutting a Queenslander means the whole house has to live somewhere for months, and a 20ft container in the driveway costs less hassle than ferrying loads to a storage shed across town. That job suits hire — it goes back when the builders do.
Trades and small businesses in the industrial pockets of the Northside and Southside buy rather than hire: a used cargo-worthy box as a permanent tool lockup or stock overflow pays for itself against rent on extra floor space. Warehouses with a forklift and a hardstand usually step up to a 40ft or a high cube for pallet storage.
Out on the acreage fringe — Redlands, the back of Logan, the Moreton Bay hinterland — access is rarely the issue and the container becomes the shed: mowers, feed, a ute's worth of tools, all behind one lock.
Brisbane summers are wet and sticky. Pick ground that drains, sit the container on blocks or sleepers under the corner castings, and fit vents if you are storing furniture or paperwork — still, humid air inside a closed steel box is what causes mould, not leaks. Cargo-worthy containers are sold wind and watertight; as-is units are cheaper and are not sold as watertight, so ask which grade a price refers to. If your street has been under water before, keep the container on the highest part of the block. It keeps rain out from above, but it will not keep floodwater out.
Most containers that come into Queensland arrive through the Port of Brisbane at the mouth of the river, and the container parks cluster around the port and the Gateway Motorway. That is the practical advantage of buying in Brisbane: stock is close, choice is wider than in regional towns, and the price guides on this page are Brisbane-depot figures to begin with. Our own office is in the Redlands at Victoria Point, so the bayside suburbs are home ground.
Delivery is still quoted for your address, because the truck, the access and the distance across the city vary. A container going to a warehouse at Eagle Farm is a different job from one going down a Paddington side street.
A lot of Brisbane now lives in townhouses and apartments with no yard at all. For them, a container is usually a moving tool: hire a 20ft, load it at the old place and keep it on a suitable site while the new place settles — or put it at a family member's property with room to spare. Body corporates generally have rules about common property and visitor parking, so a container parked in the complex needs their say-so first.
North of the river, the Moreton Bay region from Strathpine and Brendale up to Narangba, Morayfield and Caboolture mixes light industry with growing estates. Trades there buy a used box as a permanent lockup; families in the new estates hire during a build. South-east, Capalaba, Cleveland and Redland Bay are big-block suburbs with room for a 20ft down the side.
The Southern Moreton Bay Islands — Russell, Macleay, Lamb and Karragarra — are reached by vehicle barge from Redland Bay, and island roads and blocks vary. If you are on an island, ask us before you plan around a container; whether it is possible depends on the barge, the truck and your block, and we will tell you straight.
Often, but not always. The driver needs a straight line into the drop spot, a clear path about 3.5m wide and nothing low overhead where the tray tilts. Send a photo taken from the road and the gate measurement with your enquiry and we will confirm before anything is booked.
Many people do, usually on hire. Rules on temporary structures differ by block and by how long it stays, so check with Brisbane City Council (or Logan, Redland or Moreton Bay council) if it will be there more than a few months or sits near the front boundary.
A 20ft container takes the contents of a typical three-bedroom home if it is packed properly. Larger homes, or anyone who wants walking room inside, should look at a 40ft. Internal measurements are on our dimensions page.
Ask us first. It depends on vehicle barge access for the truck and on the island roads and your block. Tell us the address and send photos of the site, and we will say whether it can be done.
For long-term storage it usually is, because a container is a one-off cost and holds resale value. For a few months, hire or a storage unit may be simpler. Our hire-versus-buy guide shows the break-even.
The address we publish is the Victoria Point office, 1 Albert Street, 4165. It is not a walk-in container park. Tell us if you want to see a unit and we will say whether inspection can be arranged where that unit is standing. Otherwise we describe the grade on the quote.
