The Margaret River region is wine country first, with beef and dairy through the hinterland and a scatter of orchards and small farms. Vineyards need lockable storage for spray chemicals, irrigation parts, bird netting, picking bins and tools, and a container beside the machinery shed is a simple way to get it. Cellar doors and restaurants sometimes choose a new single-trip container because it sits in plain view of visitors, and some fit one out as a store room.
Vine rows and tight turning circles are the practical challenge. The Capes get noticeably more winter rain than Perth, and a closed steel box through a cold, damp winter will gather condensation. Fit vents at both ends, sit the container on pads so air moves underneath, and keep stored goods on pallets instead of straight on the floor.
Much of the region is bushfire prone. A container is not protection from fire and we will not suggest it is; if you plan to store fuel or chemicals, ask the City of Busselton or the Shire of Augusta-Margaret River about siting and clearances. For contents that must stay dry, choose cargo-worthy, which is inspected and sold wind and watertight. As-is units are cheaper and are not sold watertight.
Busselton's own suburbs — West Busselton, Broadwater, Geographe, Abbey — sit on flat coastal ground with straightforward driveways, and most drops there are routine for a tilt-tray. The catch is the water table: low-lying blocks near the Vasse wetlands can stay damp through winter, so the container should sit on pads rather than straight on the ground.
South of Margaret River the Bussell Highway carries on through Witchcliffe and Karridale to Augusta, and farm roads branch off east through Rosa Glen and Osmington. The country gets wetter and more heavily timbered the further south you go, and many properties are reached by gravel roads that soften over winter. On forested blocks the drop spot is usually a clearing near the house or shed — make sure it is big enough for the truck to line up straight, not just for the container to sit, and trim any limbs before the day.
